The part that I enjoy the most about my internship is my ability to interview people within the community. I had the incredible opportunity to meet a local resident this week as a part of Jerusalem Farm’s outreach campaign. Paul, whose story of hardship, allowed me to learn about the diverse background of local residents. He works long nights to maintain his historic home on Troost Avenue. He had no bathroom or kitchen in his home prior to getting in contact with Jerusalem Farm. Conversing with Paul about his experiences has allowed me to relive the tough moments of his life.
I believe that this interview with Paul is the most valuable thing that I have accomplished since beginning my internship. His story will allow for others to learn about the challenges local residents face as well as the work that Jerusalem Farm is performing to help others deal with those challenges.
